Return to Chamonix:

This is a busy day made to make the most out of a pricey day pass, but one that will give you access to EVERYTHING essential in the very local area, starting points are all walking distance from Chalet.

A 1 day pass will cost each adult 67Euros each:  click here

I would recommend the following path MAXIMUM VALUE DAY:

  1. Aiguille du Midi, open from 7.30am – buy your day passes and go right to the top
  2. Plan du l’Aiguille, exit half way down the cable car and go for a 20 minute walk to Lac Bleu see images here the short hike is well sign posted.
  3. Snack at Plan du l’Aiguille on your return (refuge/restaurant), open from 11am click here
  4. Back in Chamonix you will now walk to the Montenvers train station, you can take the little red train to the top.
  5. Enjoy the sights and you can even walk down to the Glacier and enjoy the ice cave from a short cable car ride. Take note there are many steps (as global warming has receded the Glacier since the lift was built) and it will be hot in the sunshine so TAKE WATER.
  6. Late lunch with a view at Le Panoramique Mer de Glace
  7. Now take the train back to Chamonix and walk to the Brevent cable car to end your day.The last possible time to arrive and get your ride up is 4pm. This is not a long walk but is steep, you may alternatively park your cars here in the morning so that your day starts at the parking of the train and you can drive the last leg, so your map becomes this click here.
  8. From the Brevent Plan Praz maybe you have booked parapente flights back to Chamonix or will take the last cable car down at 5pm.

Here is a map of what your walking around town may resemble:

Following this BUSY DAY you must treat yourself to an in house CHEF!
